National Truth and Reconciliation Day/Orange SHirt Day

2021 was our first year we offered Orange Shirts with the promise of all profits being donated to the Indian Residential School Survivor Society. Thanks to all of you at the start of October we were able to donate $1350.

Our shirt artwork was a collaboration with Tsuut'ina artist Josh Littlelight. It was important to us to have, not just a nice looking design, but one that was meaningful. The art depicts a residential school child survivor sitting on the earth with a residential school in the background. The eagle feathers falling to the ground represents the children who never made it home and perished at the school. The quote was recorded by superintendent Corbett on the practices of the principle at the St.Barnabas School on the Tsuut'ina Reserve.
